How to Quickly Shed Off Your Winter Pounds
As we officially exit the colder season and head toward summer, you might be feeling a little ‘bottom-heavy’. Depending on your geographical location, this may not hold true for you, but I know between the months of September through April, I tend to slow down.
By the way, how was your holiday season this year? I’m going to guess that you probably stuck to your exercise routine faithfully and carefully watched your carbs, while everyone else went for seconds. And if I am right, I applaud you and envy you at the same time.
So now I’m going to be honest. I had way too much fun over the holidays for all the wrong reasons: eating a ton of food, eating so much I couldn’t breath, and…did I mention eating so much because I lost myself in the moment, and it was just so good?
Who doesn’t lose themselves in a plate over loaded with carbs every once in a while?
If you are reading this and your inner-being is jumping up and down yelling “me!..me!...me!..” again, I envy you. Either way, if you are like me, those carbs probably headed straight down south, and they seem to be enjoying their stay. I don’t mean to sound like a poor hostess; as much as I really enjoyed the visit, I also enjoy basking in the sun… along a crowded beach…wearing nothing but a bikini. Oh no! There’s that word again—bikini. Suddenly, I am having horrid flash backs of taking that one last bite of mashed potatoes, while the button on my pants were begging me to stop.
Listen, as tragic as this all sounds, I will hold my composure and own up to my holiday smorgasbord extravaganza. I will not panic—no! I will forgive myself for over indulging and grab my trusty exercise bands to save my…well…you know.
1. They are easy to use:
Regardless of your experience with gym equipment, you will find that loop bands are way less complicated and give you a more freedom. Some equipment can limit your range of motion, not allowing you to stretch to your full abilities. With bands, stretch as far as your wish (just don’t snap). Oh, and have you taken a look at some of those machines?”uhhh…what am I supposed to do with that?”.
2. They are kind to your wallet:
Fancy fitness equipment, and the cost to access them can put your wallet into a deep depression—depending on what you are trying to achieve. Right now, you are trying to achieve a beach-worthy bottom, so you’ll be pleased to do so in as little as twenty dollars. The good news is, these are yours to keep and you wont have to worry about whose been getting sweaty with them before you arrived (if that sort of thing grosses you out).
3. They save time:
My schedule is usually full, so a simple trip to the gym can be more difficult than it really is. A quick 30 minute work out session turns into an hour, or so… (Give or take). Why so? Well, because that requires the commute to and from, and don’t forget about any side stops along the way. You know—the “oh while I am driving past McDonalds, I might as well stop in and say hello!” Eliminate all of that by staying in and working it out in the comfort of your own home—no commute and no temptations along the way.
4. You can take them anywhere:
Not only are these bands colorful and attractive, they are compact enough to take anywhere! Whether you want to take them with you to your hotel suite, or to your next holiday dinner at Aunt…whatever her name is, your loop bands will not fail to please. Lets see you do that with your TreadClimber.
