A Reviving Spring Cleaning Checklist For Your Body
1. Take charge of your stress level.
Stress always seems to find a way to seep into our lives. Once you choose to manage your stress level, though, you will find that your body is more relaxed and your mindfulness is at its peak. To get to this level of peace, try re-arranging your calendar. Make sure that you are not overworking yourself, but also make sure that you are using your time wisely. Put first things first and then fit everything else in. If you tend to stress out about calendar notifications you receive, try putting happy, relaxing items in your calendar. Then, when you are reminded to complete a task, not every task is a stressful one. You will have events to look forward to, as well as a planned out week. It’s the perfect combination of responsibility and stress management.
2. Up your meditation game.
For some, meditation is totally foreign. It’s completely understandable to be weary of it. It used to be that meditation was reserved for the eccentric. However, meditation can be beneficial for each of us. Even meditating for only a few seconds every day can help your body complete a mental cleanse. Simply take a few seconds each morning to slowly breathe in and out with your eyes closed. This will help you feel more at ease and in control. From there, you can try meditation with yoga, or simply taking more than a few seconds to take some deep breaths. Start with a little meditation and then go from there. If it improves your mindfulness, try increasing it. If it makes no difference, maybe something else will work for you, like running or reading.
3. Push your productivity to the next level.
Winter seems to push each and every one of us to a new level of procrastination and let’s face it: laziness. Fortunately, spring brings with it a new energy that you can take advantage of. Let the fresh, springy air motivate you to be more productive. Do what you have been waiting all winter to do. Challenge yourself to not procrastinate at all. The feeling of being productive will push you to be productive again and again. On the other hand, procrastination can be an endless cycle too. Choose to be productive and stick with it. You’ll be amazed at what you can accomplish when you don’t put it off.
4. Commit to going outside frequently.
If you’re anything like us, the beautiful fresh air of spring makes you want to be outside all day, every day. However, this inspiration to go outside only lasts so long. Eventually, you get used to the nice weather and forget how it felt to be outside in the first few days of spring. Use the inspiration you have now to make a habit of going outside. Fresh air will help you detox mentally and physically. Go for a walk or a run. Even just sitting outside while you eat your dinner can get you some much-needed sun. Make it a goal to be outside as much as possible. It really is a healthy, peace-making habit. Seeing nature cleanse itself with rain and blossoms can put your mind at ease.
5. Eat organic foods.
Processed foods are everywhere, but organic food is there too. You just have to look perhaps a little harder, unless of course, you go to a farmer’s market or other organic foods gold mine. Eating organic foods will really help to physically detox your body. Organic foods tend to be fresher and they are richer in the nutrients your body needs. It is even argued that organic food tastes better. Give it a try and see if you notice a beneficial change in your body like less breakouts or more energy.
6. Try a detox diet.
This could simply be eating more organic and raw foods, juicing, or eliminating processed foods. However, you could also try a juice cleanse or another fast. If you want to try a lemon detox cleanse, we’ve got the recipe right here. Otherwise, try having a more balanced diet. Use an app to keep track of your protein, sugars, and other factors in your diet. If you’re stuck on soda, try fruit infused water. There are many ways to have a detox diet that’s perfect for your lifestyle. Find one that works for you and you should a notice a difference in your complexion and energy levels.
Breathe that fresh spring air in and get ready to feel totally revived. It’s about time your body is cleansed. With a healthier lifestyle and less stress, your body will feel at peace yet again. Keep in mind that this checklist works in other seasons too. It just seems that spring comes with a natural cleaning that you may as well go along with. Happy spring cleaning!
