How To Have An Amazing Day

It’s true, you have the power to make every day an amazing one, and that power lies in a frame of thinking. While we cannot control what happens to us externally, and there is plenty out there these days to cause concern, we each hold the power to turn almost any day into a great one as long as we set out to do it intentionally.

So how can you do this?

Here are some tips to get you in your best mindset and stay there throughout your day.

1. Start Your Day With Gratitude

It only takes a couple of minutes to pay gratitude for the precious things in your life. This releases anxiety and gives you positive vibrations from the moment you rise.

This week is Gratitude Week in our Water Warriors Group!

2. Exercise or Take a Walk

While exercising can have a negative connotation to some people, everyone can agree that going for a walk is a relaxing and beneficial way to get moving and release stress. Doing this in the morning is an especially great way to start your day.

3. Get In the Moment

Stressors can take over our entire consciousness, that’s why it’s important to get out of your own head and into the moment you’re currently in. Take a moment to smell the air and notice details you might have missed to connect to the present.

4. Do Something Good For Yourself

This can be a facial or a beginning of a college application process – obviously, the range is wide. Just do something that feels good and will pay off for you in the future.

5. Eat Well

When it comes to our body and mind, it’s all interconnected. So feeding your body with quality nutrition makes you happier and feel more positive about your day.

6. Journal Your Thoughts

There’s something amazing that happens to your stressors when you get them down on paper – they tend to stay there. Instead of replaying a reel of anxious thoughts, try journaling about them instead and see if that doesn’t free up some much-needed headspace.

7. Meditate

Forget all your preconceived notions about meditation – it’s not just for gurus and “spiritual types.” Anyone who has a few free minutes can gain amazing benefits from meditation. Download an app or try a guided video online if you’re unsure where to begin.

8. Spend Time With Loved Ones

Even if you cannot physically spend time together, you can still connect to your loved ones throughout the day. Feeling this connection will automatically brighten your mood and any problems that you may be encountering.

9. Do Less

Guess, what? That 10-page long to-do list you have going? You can go without doing most of it. Choose what’s really urgent and necessary and what can wait for another day or week. Your schedule just cleared up reallyquickly.

10. Schedule Personal Time

It’s easy to get caught up pleasing and taking care of others to the point that you forget to take time for yourself. Make sure you take a few moments each day to be alone with your thoughts and feelings. Even if it’s just time spent doing something seemingly unimportant, do it anyway.

We hope you have a truly amazing day using these tips. And remember, you don’t have to do all of them for the intent to work. At the end of the day, we’re all human but these tips are a great way to bring yourself back when you feel your power and control giving way to anxiety.

Start small, and soon you’ll see your new positive routines start to develop and form into lifelong habits.

Now go out there and have an amazing day!

You deserve it ♥

Thank you so much for sharing these great tips. Before COVID-19 Mondays were not so great. Since I have been teleworking I was much better. Now were are about to stop teleworking so I will be commuting again so I know I will be using these to get me back into to Mondays when I am not so happy to get up early. Again thanks for sharing.
